There are many ways to travel: you can go in-season, off-season, in-style, on a shoe-string, with a backpack, with a suitcase, short-term, long-term, to a new place, to an old favorite, and on and on and on. Almost all of these options carry with them at least some scheduling flexibility.

Visiting a city or country during an annual festival is a great way to experience the culture of that place; what is important to the people and what is to be celebrated. You’ll also often find said inhabitants in the best of moods, but the trade-off is that you have to visit on their calendar, not yours.
